Standing in court cases is fine, but I'm not comfortable with there being enough support in the first place for passing gun bans like this.

I'm thinking that if the anti-gunners hear about this, enough of them might back off to kill the bill.

And if they do manage to push this through, we should take advantage of it.

The logic fits, but I don't think we can necessarily count on the Bush appointees to follow the conservative side. We have seen too many times the RINO Bush appointees swing the other way. It would likely have to go to the SCOTUS.

Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the outcome of the vote.

I'm sorry, I'm not willing to endure a ban for the years it would take to work it's way through the courts.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Aren't injunctions staying enforcement while appeals are underway a common thing?

Given the apparent unconstitutionality of these proposed laws, I'm wondering how seriously MN Democrats expect success as opposed to merely making political hay while the sun shines the latest tragedy is still fresh.

First, we aren't going to let this pass. To hell with that idea.

Second, the courts have been generally reluctant to enjoin anti-gun laws. They continue in many cases to treat the Second Amendment as a second class right rather than on par with 1A, etc. We're slowly seeing that shift over time.

We got an injunction on the 18-20 carry law, but it took ~8 months to get it - and then it was immediately stayed for appeal -- and then wasn't lifted until SCOTUS issued their cert decision. We got an injunction on the binary trigger ban which took a month after the hearing. Our partners in other states often can't get injunctions along the way.

That's just the political and judicial reality.

Our best change here is to stop this crap before it becomes law. It gets a lot harder and a lot more difficult to deal with after that.
