I'm about the least "tactical" person you'll ever meet, but I have to say that when I saw the first GSG5, I had purchased it in my mind before I had even grabbed it off the wall. And since I have an HK94, it's not like this was a way to pretend to have the real deal. There's just something about this current crop of .22s that really turns my crank!

Hey now, I'll admit to having an undisclosed number of military firearms, but I have no illusions about that making me an "operator"!

Although I should mention that a friend and I were discussing the zombie shoot last night, and we're thinking of going all "zombie tactical" just to get some laughs. I think he's planning on wearing a vest with a very large machete strapped to it, some gauntlets (you know, to avoid bites on the forearms), and knee-length boots. Can anyone recommend a good neck guard? I saw a zombie bite a chunk out of a guy's neck once, and I still have nightmares about it.

I see the distinction. It's still funny.

That's a great idea for the Zombie Shoot. I'd better start getting my gear ready. Maybe an axe with a sling would be good...

SpiderPig, The Masad liked the .22 for covert blood work. Beretta model 71 (Jaguar) was one of their favorites.

"Hush Puppies" were the High Standard and the Ruger .22 autos that were used in Vietnam by SF (A-GB and M-FR), in a silenced version, to take out sentrys and sentry dogs. The Ruger was the Mark 1 version.

I thought a hushpuppy was a smith model 39 in 9mm. A show on the military channel had a special forces vet talking about them used in Vietnam.

Hushpuppies or Hush puppies are a southern American food consisting of small cornmeal breads that are deep fried or baked in a spherical, oblong, or ring shape.

...I think that I stated that High Standard and the Ruger .22 autos were used in Vietnam by SF (A-GB and M-FR) and they were referred to as "hush puppies", agreed that the Smith & Wesson Mark 22 Mod.0 was used in limited circumstances by SEALs and they too were referred to as "hush puppies", but then there are some that will argue that Marines never used Winchester Model 70's...or that "Puff" was a dragon............what do I know, I know nothing...... :?

If anyone is still waiting, the first shipment of Sig Sauer 522 rifles has arrived. I'm impressed.. hopefully more impressed after I get a chance to try one. They're going to be neck and neck with the M&P 22 price-wise (449.00)

(note that it comes with no optics or sights of any kind.. about the only drawback so far)

They look like a bunch of fun, but are any of these all that accurate?

I always wanted a Feather AT-22 just because it looked like a grease gun. :) I could never bring myself to spend $500 on one.
