I've seen you shoot and, well, wow...maybe you should try another gun.

This thread is stupid.

What does carrying a 1911 make you? This is a stupid question. You are what you are and not because of the gun you carry or prefer. Mac I wouldn’t worry about what I think about you. If you really need me to explain ask me next time you see me. I will be more than happy to clear up any questions you have.

My shooting ability or lack thereof has little to do with the firearm in my hand and more to do with my shooting ability. The fact that you think it’s the gun as well as other statements that you have made tells me more than I want to know about you. This will come as a surprise to you. How you view my shooting or anything else for that matter means nothing. While I am not bothered by your insults about my shooting not meeting your standards, there were people at that steel shoot slower than I was. They do not deserve you insulting them, but I’m sure they have come to expect it from you. I hope others that haven’t been to steel shoots don’t read this and not attended because their shooting will be criticized by others months later on the intraweb.

But thanks for sharing all this with me. I guess. I would encourage you in the future to not read and post in threads you think are stupid. That normally goes without saying but then again you do think the safety rules can be tailored to meet your needs.

There may have been people at the steel shoot slower than you - but none that talk as much s**t as you do either so you sort of earned that.

I apologize, that was kind of crappy of me. But then you say a thing like "all 1911s are crap, that is proven". You know that is not true, and you know it. You're not that stupid, so I can only conclude that you thrive on trolling for abuse.

I edit most of my posts, don't care if it makes me look bad. I love to mess with stuff untill I reach perfection, kind of like with a 1911. Another analogie, just for you on this fine morning.

Really? That must be why some of our special forces, including FAST in the USMC carry (or carried back when I was in, I don't really keep up on things) them, eh??????

They can be one hell of a tool, they just take more training to use efficiently and effectively. Defensive handgun shooting is a perishable skill. I won't every carry one, but I sure as hell am not going to make the blanket statement that they are all junk. The ones built the way JMB intended (hand-fitting of parts, full-sized barrel, etc....) work pretty damn well.
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

Maybe, but like I said I encourage anyone to point out any thing I say that isn't true. 1911 are junk. It's proven.

Proven by whom?

There are 2 kinds of 1911's out there - GI Spec Guns that rattle like a bastard like they are supposed to and work 100% of the time when you do what you are supposed to ummm Clean it

and then there are NIGHTHAWKS ($2,000 +) that ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS work. You either buy a top end 1911 or the cheapest one you can find - and they are not junk -

If you choose to carry a 1911 - you have to train with it constantly.

To help you lets throw out the fact that the G21, holds more, weighs less, takes minimal tools to fix if broken, will with stand the elements better, and can swap parts from any other G21/20.

..and a G21 will go "bang" when you limp wrist it too, but a 1911 will have a problem with that........
so if you can not grip and shoot a 1911 without limp wristing it, then buy a G21 and spend your day bad mouthing 1911's on local boards.....

go back into the corner again....... :hammer:

(and your writing has improved significantly)...... ;)
