I just saw this thread. Awesome reloading room! Good job, Mike and Ron.
I have just started to build a reloading room in my basement and in fact used your nail gun for the framing. Thank you, Ron! What's your favorite beer?
I found this plan for a bench on the web:
http://www.rifleshootermag.com/ammunition/benchs_022607/It is a shallow bench (only 18 inches), but like the author of the article, I tend to leave things laying around if there is too much horizontal space, a bad idea if those things are powders.
I am going to divide it into two four-foot sections, one about 30 inches high (for sitting to use a Dillon 550) and the other about 43 inches high (for standing), each on its own adjacent wall with cabinets in the corner between them. Like you, I will have track lighting over the benches. Mine isn't going to be as nice as yours, though.
I have heard it is best to avoid carpet in reloading rooms because of release of static electricity and problems with primers. My room is in my basement and I am not sure what I want to do for flooring. I do have a battery powered backup sump pump, but am still hesitant to use wood flooring in a basement. Other options?
