I give the kid credit for posting his experience as a self proclaimed test-case-person for open carry and educator of misinformed law enforcement agents. By sharing his story, his gun and holster, his clothes, occupation, pick-up, mother’s valor and wall coverings have earned him a sufficient amount of lambasting.
Madrevar, I think the overall sentiment is simple and straight forward. Just because one “can” is not always justification for doing so. And if one chooses to do so, then use some common sense and recognize that there is a population that is scared out of their minds when they see someone, whom at first blush, appears to be somewhat detached from reality and therefore may be dangerous. The police should have checked you out…and they did and “can”; but according to your account they did so for the wrong reason (not concealed).
I would like to add that there are more than 50,000 permit holders in this state, and I for one, am apposed to negative publicity. I would ask that you realize that you represent all of us and would do so respectfully. According to this thread, you personally have contributed 3 incidents where LE has interacted with a “man with a gun”, oh, and he has a permit. These statistics are tracked and do not help the cause. Please give this some thought, get a good holster, do your laundry and dress appropriately.
Thanks for listening and be safe.
PS. Don’t tell everyone in cyberspace that you carry a berretta while delivering pizza.
