5.7 is like a reloadable 22 mag.

Use blue tip ammo and no more in and out shots!

The way I see it, if 20 rounds can't stop a 250 pounder on meth, then, there isn't much that will.............

Other than those five, if you carry a working firearm and can bring it to bear in quickly then you are way ahead of everyone else who has instead prepared to be a victim. +1 for everyone carrying a .45 or .357 but that's not everyone.

One of the best arguments that can be made for smaller pistols [ stop reading here if you belong to the .45-only club ] is that you can carry them in your pocket. Wild Bill Hickock was once asked "What is the best place to have a gun before a gunfight?" and his answer was "In your hand". When you carry in your pocket, you can look casual when in fact you have the gun in your hand. Granted what you bring out won't have the penetration or punch of a .45 but if you are the first to score a hit in the vitals then odds are you just won the gunfight. Also, if you are the first to draw you have the best chance of de-escallating the situation.

BTW, I don't own a pocket pistol, nor do I pocket carry. Today I'm carrying a full - frame 1911 as I often do. But as I said starting out +1 for everyone who carries .45 or .357 but the large calibers are not the only option in town.

my opinion ( for what it's worth ) is any gun that you are unable and/or unwilling to use if or when the need arises. :o

My worst is my S&W 1006. It's my favorite gun, but weighs a ton, and really needs a duty holster to carry comfortably. I hate shoulder rigs, so that's out. Was thinking of a high position paddle aka Kramer MSP model. That's a lot of money to gamble with on a non-returnable item though. Great pistol, but similar to trying to conceal a hockey stick and heavy enough to torque out my back after a few hours of walking. When is that damn Glock 29 gonna get here? Ugh!

WHAT??? Never been to the inner city, suburb boy??

For a formal education, watch a lot of COPS reruns, and you may be lucky enough to get the one where there is a coke or meth addict (sorry, but can't remember) barricaded in a room, and about 6 cops are setting up to breach the door. One cop, who is the"designated shooter" is told by his supervisor to KEEP SHOOTING UNTIL HIS MAG IS EMPTY, because it may take 7-8 rounds just to stop the druggie's forward movement. Admittedly, the gun in question was the S&W 40 Short and Weak, but that's still supposed to be a substantial caliber.

Anither episode, which is extremely educational since January 20th of this year, shows a drug crazed naked black man getting tased with no effect, punching through a 1 x 8 board fence with his bare hands, and requiring a major can of whoopass to be opened up just to subdue and cuff him.

Bottom line: coke , meth, or steroids can get you so amped you don't even feel it if you do get shot, and the only thing that will stop you is a brain shot, or heart shot with enough impact to disrupt/burst the immediately adjacent internal organs. And the bigger they are, the more lead it takes to put them down.

I think what he is saying is meth addicts are not normally 250 pounds. More like 100. I thought the same thing when I read it. I could be wrong.

you got it, I am sure there are exceptions to the rule but all of the meth/coke/pcp/baby laxitive and milk sugar addicts that got a ride from me have been on the skinny side to put it mildly, but generally still acted like rapid pit-bulls.
