Now you want to come over here and try to start something on this board by tweaking noses? How many friends can you afford to turn into enemies before you really do become a movement of one?

For anyone here who is not familiar with the above character, and his, errr, character, I would invite you to peruse these threads before even thinking about giving him any money:
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=8553

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=8651&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=couch

But don't take everyone else's word for it. Heck, go look at his own words and see what kind of integrity he has and what kind of mutual respect he gives to his peers and colleagues in the business:
http://www.jewwithagun.com/

Then...run as far away as you can from him.

You got that right in a BIG WAY. Joel not only banned me for speaking highly of my instructor, he BLOCKED my IP address so I can't even read his forum. Even though I've lost all respect for Joel, there is still valuable information offered by other instructors that frequent his forum. Personally, I would never spend the inflated price for his class. Apparently, he's the only one who thinks his price is a "value". I'm surprised the owner of this forum allows Joel to post here as Joel refers to MNGUNTALK.COM as the "daycare center". Sounds like a insult to me!

Considering who made that name up, I would say it is not an insult, but rather a desperate attempt to marginalize this place he has no influence over.

It's too bad that some threads around here are not visible to everybody... who do we have to know to see them????

I have no doubt that you are very good. As are many other instructors here. IMO, price does not always dictate quality. Me thinks there's a balance. Instructors like to be paid for their time..........as they should be. For a few, their prices just dictate greed.........I can think of one off the top of my head

I'm all for the instructors that really want to further establish our rights as stated in 2A and agree they should be compensated for the time spent. I'm not for instructors that charge very inflated prices and teach the same stuff as other quality instructors.......again, I can think of one.

A couple weeks ago I met Sam (Scott) and I wouldn't mind taking my renewal class from him. I may have to drive some miles, but he drove the last time ;) I guess it would be smart to take classes from different instructors to get other perspectives on carrying.

That's just it. I'm still three years away from my renewal, visit these sites a lot, but I know I will take my renewal from a different instructor even though I highly respect the one my wife and I took our initial class from. I'd still like to sit in on a couple other classes for the cost of the seat but time is iffy for me. It is what it is, all we can do is try and expand our knowledge and improve.

Joel read the above comments,

Its possible to have a reasoned discourse on instructors without name calling, slamming, or other childish behaviors. It's what grown-ups do.

See, this is the way Grown ups discuss things, no put downs, no anger, very easy to accept that someone else does a good job, and a perfectly adequate job, but to also say that each instructor has their own strong points without having a stroke.....

Thank you Mike--I'd be glad to have you :) Even as an Instructor, I make time to attend other Instructors classes and I ALWAYS learn something new. I would expect the same thing would happen for students doing renewals. All of my students that do renewals tell me they learned something new in my class and I would venture to bet ALL the other instructors here would echo the same thing about their renewal students. I'm JUST an Instructor--nothing more-nothing less. I certainly am not THE MAN !

Fixed it for you so people reading know who is talking about who........... :hammer:

You guys are all great instructors, but you still have room for improvement on your keyboard skills........ :hmm:
All men are created equal....It's what they do from there that matters!.

I find the sig line "Just a Jew with a gun", detrimental to our common cause. I find it offensive, racist and ignorant. I would feel the same if any other race or religion was used instead.

I also believe there are many qualified, experienced and courteous instructors in Minnesota and on this board. I for one will not give the time of day to fascist, dictatorial, petty, narcissistic and greedy instructors.

Please do your research when selecting an instructor.

These are just my feelings and personal opinion. YMMV

PS I will not delete my posts. I stand behind what I say.

Actually, if his place is anything like it used to be, he is probably referring to the fact that his "children" have to come over here when they need adult supervision. That would make us his site's daycare......
