Just stopping to say hi

Postby Racetruck17 on Sun Jun 21, 2009 9:29 pm

Hi my name is Curt, i'm a 25 year old from St Cloud. I've been interested in guns and varmint hunting for a while now, but recently have found an interest in handguns. I'm afraid i'm still very new to the information dealing with these guns, but hope to draw as much as i can with a little guidance here.
I recently borrowed my brother's .40 smith and wesson M&P large frame, after a trip to the range for the afternoon i decided i needed one of my own. I purchased a 9c M&P this last friday, and plan on taking my cc class with it on the 27th of this month.
I look forward gaining knowledge from this great community that you have created here.

Welcome to the board. There is a lot of great info here, and mostly, people who are willing to help. Who are you taking your carry course from?

I don't know who the instructor will be yet, but i'm planning on going through gander mtn. I was suppose to go on the 13th with a coworker, but i ended up racing that day. I hope it will be the same guy he had, as he learned alot from him in the classroom, and on the range after class they practiced tactical maneuvers for a while.

Hey, glad to have you here. You will notice that there are a lot of really good instructors on this board. I would take Sam up on his offer at the drop of a hat. ;) He is one of the good guys here. Tom

Be sure to come to some of the events that are held, puts faces and names together and you can see for your self that no-one has horns or halos... Well maybe except HammAR... ;) There is a fun shoot not to far from your house on this Saturday in Hutch and Sunday the 5th in Cambridge. Hope to see you there.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!
I did take Sam up on his offer for the carry class today, and I'm very glad I did. His class was very informative and and he did a fabulous job explaining how things tend to play out in the real world, not just in some textbook. Thanks again for providing a wonderful class.
I look forward to attending some events in the near future, but as of now, I have a full schedule for the first part of June with racing.
