Second steel challenge, first post.

Real name is Ken Anderson and I wasn't born before 1964, I just fancy pre 64 model 70 Winchesters. Howdy to everyone from the shoot. what a great bunch of people.
I had a wonderful time at the steel shoot Saturday, this was my second time. Brought my best friend Shane Z with so he could have a blast too.
We met a lot of friendly people (a special thanks to the gal who fed us extra grub off of the grill) and witnessed quite a bit of darn good shooting. Those revolver guys are amazing.
I really appreciate the warm welcome given to a newcomer. To clear thing up for Pat Cannon I'm kind of a semi-noob. I have never shot USPSA, IDPA or any other organized handgun shooting. Did shoot a local rimfire pistol league for a couple years in the early 90's. I used to do a lot of trap shooting and some sporting clays, but always did a ton of plinking with Ruger single six and mark 2 .22's when I was growing up, used to shoot up close to brick or more each week for a few years at paper, cans, dirt clumps and wood from the wood pile.

Got laid off from my job at HTI last January after 17 years and started working for a company call Nordic Components. They make upper and lower receivers, hand guards, gas blocks and other components for AR's. Also make shotgun extension tubes and other competition accessories. They sponsor some of the national 3 gun shoots, so the boss told me to get a new 9mm and start practicing for some of the matches he's going to take me to. Bought an XDM 9mm in May and started banging away.
After not shooting much the last 14 years because of my work schedule, it is nice to come to a shoot as a stranger and start making new friends.
See ya next time.
