Guns in Bars, I for one don't like it!

Postby John S. on Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:58 am

I'm all for freedom, but, this could go very bad for gun owners rights, OR, it could go very good. But, I just don't think Alcohol and Guns mix, any better than Alcohol and cars. :? Maybe the gun owner won't drink, but I've met some beligerant drunks in my day, hell, I was one of em................... :P

The Arizona Senate has given final approval to a bill that would allow people with concealed weapons permits to carry a gun into a business that serves alcohol.

ummm... we have that here, it's called personal responsibility. And where has all the blood in the street gone ... oh yeah, it hasn't been an issue.
private or small grou permit classes available

Ooops, forgot we can carry in bars here! Sorry, I was checking out Handgunlaw.us last night and most of what I read banned them in drinking establishments. I know permit holders are responsible for the most part, but the drunks in the bars you have to wonder about, I mean, how many get in their cars and drive home when they shouldn't? ;)

Bars are dangerous. What we need to do is ban beer bottles from all bars. I have seen way too much blood spilled and beer wasted from some idiot smashing a bottle over another patron's head.

Hey John, when is the last time you set foot in a bar? Being a recovering, do you frequent bars? If not, (and even if so) why are you so offended at people exercising their Second Amendment right in a place of business?

After reading the story line, I thought this would be a good thing. It opens up places like stadiums or public gatherings that were off limits before because alcohol was there.

I've been in a few, but, I'm not against it, just that shtuff can happen in a drunken environment that doesn't normally happen outside that environment. I'm sure permit holders will stay below the limit to legally carry, but, arguments seem pretty prevalent in barroom atmospheres. I'm glad they are getting more freedoms, but have to wonder if the future will help or hurt the cause. I hope it turns out fine.

Freedom and responsibility go together. People are still going to be people, though. So how much more freedom are you willing to give up because of someone else's lack of responsibility?

Well, it's been six years here and we have a pretty good record so far.

This has been a non-issue in MN for over five years.

By saying you expect problems from letting permit holders into bars, (i.e. criminal activity) is the same as saying you believe all permit holders to be criminals. This is the same argument used by the brady bunch, and other Anti-American, socialist asshats.

Please reconsider your stance.

You're kinda obsesed with "stance", aren't you? :o So, do you prefer the new, wider stance? :P

Obsessed? Nope. Prefer a wider stance? Whether I prefer it or not, I'm gonna have to get used to it.
