you mean like telling someone to take their ball and go home? takes two to tango my friend. Not sure who I'm trying to fool here.

If they made a Jennings in .45 acp and it actually worked, it would knock down a pin as well as anything else. Thats all I'm saying. There is no "king" pistol (there are some that cost twice as much as others though, and possibly some have touchy nerves when somebody says that their 1911 isn't necessarily any better than something else). If there was, the only pistol on the market would be a 1911.

Every thread doesn't have to turn into a "my pistol is better than yours" argument. Bowling pins = hard to knock down. More impact energy and momentum = better. .45acp > 9mm.

You are correct sir. What you are forgetting is the OP. This thread was based on SAM's desire to purchase a 1911 chambered in .45, and he invited tomfoolery. If I have offended you in any way, I do apologize, and will do what I can to help you nurse your swollen feelings and bruised ego by buying you a beer next time I see you. :P :P

ETA and if they made a Jennings in .45, I'd bet you could still melt it on the stove. ;)

I have no bruises, and nothing is swollen as far as I can tell. I get myself into arguing academic points more often than not. I think in general we are on the same page, which is typical. You can buy me a beer unless I buy you one first. I'll bring my ball.

As for my ego, I shot to the best of my ability on that given day. Considering how much I've practiced this summer, I thought I did pretty good. If I had a 1911 in my hands, I don't think i'd have done any better either (with the same amount of practice). If Sam wants a 1911, well, so do I. Can't fault anyone for that.

I have had really good luck with both Ed Brown and Nighthawk Custom. Nighthawk is second to none when it comes to customer service. Their pistols are wonderful! (Didn't I just say that...?)

Kind of costly how? Ammo or pins? I'd love to see what a .500 would do to a bowling pin.

Kinda costly for shooting pins but it would damned sure make them leave the table. ;)

Just hit the table once and it would most likely take all the pins out. Sounds like "More bang for the buck" than throwing 100 rounds of 9mm at it if you ask me!

Sam, you maroon!! Come in here and stir up ANOTHER 1911 debate, and then say NAAAAHHHHHH and walk away.

And BTW - if you're gonna go big bore, the DE50 is the way to go. The mags drop free, so you can reload as fast as any other semi, and it obviously will kick the pins off the table. BTW - was this a 5 pin match or a 10 pin match, and if it was a 10, were the pins in a standard triangle configuration or in a row??

Anyone know of any Norinco dealers in the area? I would like to take a look at their 1911 Sport/Two Tone model.

Norinco products are banned from import into the U.S.

Well I thought so since they are from China, but people always talk about the Norinco 1911's so I assumed they were around... Must be older imports.

Yep, the only Norincos you will find are used.
