When do you carry - When not?

Postby Pat on Sun Jul 19, 2009 5:15 pm

I carry most of the time, but always when I am with my kids out someplace.

How about you?

I don't carry when I'm in bed. I wouldn't want to go off half-cocked.
I got a fever, and the only prescription... is more cowbell!

I carry whenever I am awake. Whenever I'm sleeping too.

I don't not carry ever. Except at work, where I am reluctantly disarmed, but in a secured facility.

Does that mean in the shower too? You probably should have kept your Tupperware...

I carry everywhere I can, so pretty much everywhere but work(at the group home), since although I'm pretty responsible, well, they are crazy...

I carry every where but bed or in the shower and there's always a loaded heater arms length away.

When do you carry - When not?

Postby KA0OLD on Mon Jul 20, 2009 9:53 am

I work out of my home. I live in the 4th of minneapolis. As I look out the back door from this computer there is a house in the way, or else I could see where #6 this year Died. About 300 feet. I have one Employee, part time now. He shot 7th internationally a couple of years back, single shot handgun. I paid for his training, he paid for the permit. Andrew was inpressed with his "Group". I am the boss and require him to carry. The only reason he didn't have a permit was he didn't need one where he lives, quiet and peacefull neighborhood, high Traffic. I carry 100% of the time at home. I also do service calls. I always leave the house packing, but depending on where I am going, I will sometimes lock the firearm in the glovebox. If we use a vechicle without a locking box, we have a small case which locks, though it is not secured to the vechicle. Some businesses where I go are posted, I know the people there and they say "You can carry, we don't care". Others I just remove it and say nothing. I have never been in a "Factory" where I was anything less that "Condition Green". As I travel, say Red Wing, I feel there is little need there. When I go (very rare) to the local "Quickie Mart" I always have my Condition orange or yellow. Though there are no bodies there, there have been shootings in front of the store and down the block.
I have observed that the first half of the month is more quiet than the last half, seems the drugs and money run out. There is a "Full Moon" factor too. The first half of the month it may be a 380 or 9MM second half of the month, 45ACP.

"Don't leave home without it". A simple and reliable statement. If I'm Dressed, I'm Armed at home.

The same. It's out in my truck right now, as per the legal statute, and will be on my hip on my commute home. I carry when we go to the park, shopping, church, and anywhere else I legally can.

I'd still rather be carrying openly. More comfortable and I still think the "acclimate the sheep" value is a net positive.

Well, I certainly don't have any need to carry in the shower like you paranoid schizo's do!!

I mean, a perp opens the shower door and see a 60 year old guy with a pot belly, raging back hair, massive sesame seed buns, and his nuts down around his kneecaps somewhere. Them EFFERS are going to die in agony pouring battery acid into their eyes..... :( :o

I keep one handy all the time in the house, there are several stashed around the house other than that, pretty much I carry all the time except in a few places where ignoring the signs would add up to more headache than I can deal with. (court house, a couple of "contiguous City halls" and schools. etc)
