I'm really interested in how this one is going to turn out after the investigation is done.

There's one other thing that troubles me whenever officer-involved shootings take place. I get sick of hearing "Why did they have to kill him? Couldn't they have just shot him in the leg/arm/etc?" When I try to explain to people (like my girlfriend) that most officers and trained to shoot center mass, they think it's "horrible" that LEO's don't shoot to wound. I've found it nearly impossible to argue with these types. I just usually say "well, you'd have to understand officer training and the reasons they're trained as they are."

And they certainly do. This is Minnesota, after all.

Are you serious? The reason I'm trained to shoot center mass until the threat is eliminated is to avoid lawsuits?

You have got to be **** kidding me. You are either a troll or an ass, or both.

I am neither. I respect the law and have been around LEO's the most of my life. The statement is true. center mass = dead. We are all human.

Bullcrap. The statement you made with respect to the reason LEOs train to shoot center mass was ' dead people can't sue', not 'center mass = dead' . Thanks for playing, but you can't weasel out of a stupid statement that easily.

A sword has two sides. I understand your training and please don't take offence to the statement. You made the assumption that I was insinuating the reason an LEO shoots to kill to keep lawsuits away. I simply stated a fact.

I wasn't assuming anything. it was your post that clearly 'insinuated' that the reason Law Enforcement is trained to shoot center of mass rather than 'shooting to wound' was to ensure that the victims dies and thus they avoid lawsuits.

You can wriggle all you like on this hook, but the intent of your post was clear. You showed your ass and you have two choices, man up and apologize for a totally unwarranted and bogus post, or be labeled as what you appear to be, a troll.

Then he needs to apologize and take responsibility for his post instead of trying to pretend he didn't say it and anyway, didn't mean it if he did say it.

I get tired of people making stupid comments about my profession then trying to deny it or playing the 'misunderstanding' card.

It's like the old 'I can't be racist, some of my best friends are black' defense - one being true, doesn't mean the other isn't a lie.
