The main building at St. Paul Technical College is under lockdown concerning the possibility that a man is on campus with a gun, police said.
No one can leave and no one can enter the building while law enforcement conducts a security sweep, said police spokesman Sgt. Paul Schnell.
Authorities have yet to find anything suspicious, Schnell said.
Shortly after 11 this morning, a woman reported to school officials that she saw a man with what “she believed to be a gun.” School officials then relayed the information to police.
The school is on Marshall Avenue in the heart of the city’s Cathedral Hill section. It is the oldest of the metro area’s public two-year colleges.

St. Paul College does not have posted the commonly seen signs that declare guns "banned on these premises." However, Stumne said, "It's against the law to bring weapons onto a state campus like this."

What happens in the basement stays in the basement.
Saint Paul College, located in the heart of Saint Paul's Cathedral Hill, has been educating people for employment since 1910. Saint Paul College is the oldest of the metro area’s public two-year colleges. Recently, the College was recognized as one of the top 50 fastest growing public two-year colleges in the nation, and has been ranked among the top five of Minnesota’s community and technical colleges.
