Outdoor Channel S.W.A.T. Magazine

Did anyone happen to watch last Wednesday Outdoor Channel's S.W.A.T. Magazine TV? Rob Pincus is the host, he was showing a trainer I think his name was Les Awstruck or something close, I had not heard of him prior to the program. He had a interesting training concept where he mounted flat paper bad guy targets so they bowed out to make them 3D. The idea behind this was depending on how the target was facing you or you facing the target you would have a much smaller kill zone then shooting at the flat paper target squared up or even quartering away.

I thought it was a interesting way of shooting at paper targets and would be very similar to the discussion on shooting the deer that was standing in the field quartered to you.

Anybody familiar with this trainer, I tried a quick search and checked Rob's and Outdoor TV's websites but can't find anything on that segment. I may be way off on the name.

Yes, and I think that you must be referring to Louis Awerbuck.....extremely competent, South African...he uses modified "Ivans" 3-D's to train with.....

Yes that's him, I wanted to write down his name, but my Rite in the Rain pen and note pad was in my Maxpedition Versi pac bug out bag and didn't think I could access it from the safe room in time to record his name so I resorted to memorizing it by assigning a number to each letter of his name, but I think I need a little more work on that.

In the segment the class was on the firing line shooting at the paper targets mounted as mentioned above and then he had each student shoot at his Mirage Target System shown on his website. http://www.yfainc.com/index.html

I read his stuff regularly, but I'm getting old and can't remember either--is it in American Rifleman or SWAT magazine? I think the latter (which, by the way, I have found to be an expensive but pretty decent magazine). He definitely knows his stuff.

It's a new show on the outdoor channel called S.W.A.T Magazine TV.
