No sources in the metro that I know of. I work part time at a local wood shop and we have rarely seen any in the pipeline. No real demand at retail.
I have seen some people build them out of round pine fence components but finding enough length may be a challenge. These would be turned rather than stripped but it is a similar look. The joints can be a bit dicey and they can loosen up easily if the logs are not really dry when you cut the joints. You will need to be sure of cabinet grade drying (6-8%) rather than construction grade (12-15%)

PostingID: 1606970524We get some heavy (2") knotty pine that is rather inexpensive if you want a more basic design...You could even incorporate some natural edges into the headboard and footboard if you want to spend a few more dollars on a slab and get a one of a kind look.
I would be happy to sit down and design one with you. The shop is in Maplewood and I work Saturdays and Monday eves.
