I'm not encouraged by this.

My fellow Minnesotan,
Thank you for choosing to support HR 1467. I'm an Air National Guardsmen and have deployed five times since October 2001. I feel safe in my home and everywhere I travel as I chose never to put myself in harm’s way. I have a MN Permit to Carry and occasionally exercise this privilege. I choose not to hunt but enjoy target shooting and sharing my passion for firearms with friends and family.
It is disheartening to think how a criminal can knowing cause harm to me or my family yet given their choice to make me an unwilling participant, the same criminal currently has legal protection.
I never want to take a life and pray to God I will never find myself in such a situation. The passing of HR 1467 will not change how I would react if facing a life or death situation. What your support potentially provides me is the peace of mind that my life will have a chance of returning to normal should I ever be forced to deal with a criminal trying to kill me.
Again, thank you for your support.
