Actually, I remember a few things about Jesse..........

1) He called it as he saw it.
2) He succeeded on very little money for his campaign to win.
3) He has a PTC and carries.
4) When he won, all of the local stations were shuffling papers and stammering for things to say because they were unprepared for an Independent to win. They had 2 stacks of papers, one for Repub and one for Dem, that's it.
5) He actually got us money BACK when he was in office. There was a surplus.

There was that bill a few months ago that would have extended carriers rights, Castle Doctrine, Stand Your Ground and all of that... I don't know any Repub or Dem that would have signed it, or as quickly as Jesse would have had he been in as Gov. Likewise, do you think any of these proposed bills would stand a 1/16384th of a chance to pass with Jesse in office? Nope.

I liked the guy actually. Sure beats those career politicians.

Jesse said he'd go for President if he was ever given equal airtime. Ever notice that no one ever is other than Repubs and Dems? Sure, Ross Perot did once I believe, but he has the money to buy his way into it. You'l never see any smaller party or independent get that chance. Why not? I If there was some hedonistic, polygamous, pot smoking, nudist pagan who was running for office; I may not agree with them, but then again I might. Either way, I'd like to hear what they have to say. I'd certainly like to hear it versus the corporate/political speak we normally get.

I did not vote for him but liked some of things he done. I stopped buying what he was selling back when he had a radio show in the mornings. When he joked about throwing his guns in the river i figured something was up.

I know you are not going to like this but America's 2 party system works good. I knew Perot was full of it when I got my first look at his vice presidential running mate. The third party died on a national level because IMO it didn't benefit the Democrat party the second time it was tried. Clinton was able to narrowly win his first election because of the third party split (Perot).
Remember Daytons first election? We had Dayton, Horner and Emmer. This is another third party split that resulted in a Democrat win in fact, Horner's votes were very close to the number of votes that Emmer lost by. About 224,000 if I remeber correctly.

Please don't buy what the third party is selling. Work to fix the one of the two major parties instead. It's what most of the other states are doing. Let the flaming begin..

As I recall, Jesse did NOT have a carry permit. The Chief of Brooklyn Park PD wouldn't give him one. Even when he was mayor.

As far as equal air time, Jesse has his own show.

He's a publicity whore and kook.

No thanks.

Heffay, we NEED to be riled up, because the others are right.

Maybe these bills won't pass as written. But which VERSION of them will? Any of them are an onerous place to start.

What I remember about Jessie:

1) He was a pompas and arrogant ass.
2) He didn't suport anything that didn't benefit him directly. He was in favor of cutting license fees when he saw what tabs for his new Porsche cost him.
3) He was all for carry reform until he got his PTC and then the issue was dropped.
4) He only gave us a small portion of the surplus back and when the economy took a dump insisted it was our "patriotic duty" to pay higher taxes.
5) His ego wouldn't let him run for reelection because he knew he'd lose.
I will never apologize for being an American.

All of the above, plus if you study that election, there was a state wide issue on.... Hunting and fishing rights?. It brought out many first time/ one time voters, interested in little else on the ballot untilt they saw a name they recognized, said to themselselves: " Oh, what the hell, I'm here anyway", and pulled the lever for turnbuckle. And as I said before you can thank venturmna for light rail.

I'm as riled up as anyone here. I'm just not afraid like most people here are. I'm as annoyed as the next person about all this crap going down. Heck, I got into a 4 hour facebook argument with a gun control advocate during work on my boss's thread (which, of course, got him to yell as his friend for annoying me for 4 hours when I could have been working).

But afraid? No. Not in the least. I suppose harnessing the irrational fears of gun owners comes in handy, but this is a foregone conclusion. There is a reason the NRA is so powerful: People give money, and people vote. This issue is decided, and all the histrionics of New York and Chicago will soon fade (as their laws are overturned), and we can go on our merry ways arguing about clips vs magazines, glocks vs 1911s, and 9mm vs .45*.

(The correct answers, btw, are clips, glocks, and 9mm)

I was genuinely shaken when I read those bills yesterday about bans on large cap magazines and so-called assault weapons. I can't believe fellow Minnesotans would tell me as of August 1, I will be a felon in my own state if I don't kneel and kiss the ring of their tyranny. Even if these bills do not pass, I am forever changed in how I view the DFL progressives. I will not register, I will not turn in. I will be a felon even though I have worked hard my entire life, am a army veteran, always paid my taxes, don't cheat or play the system, get a little teary when I hear the National Anthem, go to church, and give to the poor. So much for being a model citizen.

My fantasy will be 5000 of us on the Capitol steps. all holding a 30 round magazine above our heads, and all demanding to be arrested in order to clog up the legal system and spotlight the stupidity of such laws.

I thought I was going to be a loyal Minnesotan and pay my taxes until the day I die. I guess I'm retiring to Texas or Arizona now, and that really hurts to turn my back on a state I once loved and who I thought loved me.

Why? give reasons... I think you just like to make yourself feel better everyday by saying that. By saying that it will NEVER happen is just ignorance.

Arizona is full. Don't come here. Haven't you heard of this country-crippling illegal immigrant problem? THIS IS FREAKING GROUND ZERO!!!!
