Gun Insurance is the next agenda item

The legislation, which is being considered in a handful of states, would require gun owners to insure firearms as a market-based approach to incentivize safe firearm ownership and usage.

Good grief!!

They will start low and once the camels nose is in the tent.
They will ramp up the insurance to a prohibitive cost and bam! A cost induced gun ban!

At least it's private company registration, not government registration.

Doesn't matter who does it. Registration is bad either way. The "private company" would just tell the government anyway.

You mean they would sell that information to the government for a handy profit. ;-)

Nope.

I'm sure they would just tell them. Just like your ISP will tell the government who's IP address belongs to who so they can raid your house.

Don't forget, you will also have to get "Un-insured gun owner protection", to cover for all of the criminals who won't pay for their own.

It's not the LAWS you necessarily have to worry about, it's how the laws are regulated.

I agree.

Apparently, such a simple statement is too complex for gun grabbing libtards.

The way i took the article was, the insurance companies dont want, gun owners dont want, be trying in illinios for years cant get it through, probably wont ever, and even it did they did, it wouldnt pass the supreme court and they could make a mandate but it wouldnt mean the insurance companies would have to follow it. They even said in the article with mandatory car insure 25 percent of the cars on the road arent insured. So in essence a complete joke and waste of money and resources. Typical anti gun BS in other wards...Another thing, how could they enforce it? they have no clue who has guns. The only way enforceable would be through a registration. Even through a registration unless u willfully register, they still wouldnt know.
Give me liberty or give me death... Those willing to give up liberty for safety deserve neither...

The whole premise is absurd. What's next: Mandatory knife insurance? blunt object insurance? martial artist insurance?
Car insurance isn't mandatory unless one drives on a public road...

In reality ,If you are a trained fighter. You are held to a different standard if you end up in court for a physical altercation.

The analogy to 'gun insurance' would be you, as trained in the martial arts, having to pay a premium based solely on the basis of your training.
