No, I'm not talking about my undercarriage but rather my somewhat new G19. I was working up several test loads for 9mm using AA#5 and Power Pistol using REM 115gr FMJ (hollow base) and random brass, and noticed that almost all of the lighter loads below mid-range in the books wouldn't cycle properly on my G19 (FTE), but most behaved fine in my PPS. In some cases the brass barely spat out of the chamber and landed only a foot or two away.
Does the G19 need a hotter load to cycle properly or is it a case or spring break in? I only have about 250 rnds through the G19 so it's a spring chicken compared to 2,000+ through the PPS. When I started testing from the mid to upper end of the powder ranges it cycled fine and spit the brass out several feet as expected. All loads were within mfg spec for each powder type starting at the low end and working up to near max (not over) and didn't see any over pressure signs at the top end.
Just curious if other G19 owners have experienced similar things or can recommend their formula for either powder and load?
