Idiot reloader

Postby CarRacer on Thu Nov 07, 2013 7:39 am

This video came from the Brian Enos forums and it's a little long but it's worth watching as you can see the train of idiocy build steam and then derail spectacularly off the tracks. The guy is so dumb that he is unable to figure out what actually happened. It's just scary all around.

If you're not interested in watching the entire thing skip to 12:00. Watching him squeeze the trigger was the hardest part to watch for me.

At the end the video all they could do was blame the gun

Is it just me, or did he not even verify that there was powder in the shells before putting bullets on top of them, let alone checking how much?

It appeared that he looked on at least one of them couldn't see in there on the video though. The first 3 did seem to be squibs though, which he should have noticed.

Well, that is indeed awful. Seeing as I'm in pain anyway from getting a full knee replacement last week, thought I would go through and document the full horror and utter stupidity of this person, and the first thing to note that this is NOT a reloading n00b, but a good, old-fashioned Cletus. His mommy and daddy were probably first cousins, so he is fundamentally retarded. and it wouldn't make a lick of difference if he RTFM once or a dozen times, because he kant reed all thet well.

So, shall we walk through this gripping epic of a true Darwin candidate:

0:30 - refers to gun style as breakaway or barrel brake, both of which are wrong. It's a break-open action, and these are chronically weak actions to begin with.
1:17 - as he runs the case into the size die, he mentions that the die is EXPANDING the case.
2:00 and 2:30 - he refers to the powder weight as load count, and you have to kind of listen to this Cletus mumbling to figure out how his pea brain is grasping this stuff.
7:30 - The Cletus goes on a side track talking about saving money through reloading, and the fact that what he REALLY wanted was a 4-wheeler, which would be a lot more fun, but his pea brain does understand the concept that you gotta have muny to pay fer stuff, which is why he took up reloading instead with a POS revolver that probably cost $50 to begin with.
11:15 - The Cletus measures the Overall Length of the round, and says it's between .1185" and .1175". You think maybe 1.185" was what he meant? (Note: this OAL suggests a 32 S&W cartridge....)
13:07 - Another OAL measurement of .1170"
14:52 - The Kablooey has happened, the Cletus is in pain, and correctly figures out that me must have put two charges on one case.
17:20 - The Cletus notices that the barrel has a bullet in it. Also notices a case in the cylinder that has the bullet deep seated in the case, and assumes that the barrel was obstructed, the round in the case went off, bounced off the obstruction, and went back into the case.

19:03 - In a final show of what a fine, outstanding fair minded guy this Cletus is, he mentions that he should have canceled the check on the guy who sold him the gun.

And now a safety warning from your friendly 800 pound Reloading Troll: Do NOT eat a Cletus!! Due to their genetic deformities and inbreeding, they have the same sort or Prion disorder as humans with Jacob-Creuzfeldt syndrome or deer with Chronic Wasting Disease, and you can pick up this disease and starting turning into a Cletus yourself! Plus they taste worse than a gut-shot skunk roasted over a garbage fire.

So be careful out there, and remember to RTFM, and do not ETFC!!

I keep turning this video off, then restarting it. 20 minute video took about 90 minutes.

Sam seemed pretty calm about this one, he must be on some good meds!

Seems there is disagreement here over what the actual issue was.

Clearly he shot the ass-end of a bullet but which one was it (or all of them)? They all sounded the same to me, other than the one.

Should have been paying more attention when he was reloading. Looks like an old Iver Johnson 32 S&W

Well, it didn't happen around here, and whatever impression this Cletus was trying to make, he comes off as a complete idiot and has immortalized himself as such. If I could get videos of the n00bs in here doing stoopid stuff, I could just post them and keep my mouth shut, and it would have the same effect (if not even MORE effect) than all my rants and flames.

But yeah, got big bottles of Vicodin and Vistarel here to keep me happy while my synthetic knee gets used to the rest of me, and vice versa.

I'm not sure of he shot the ass end of another bullet or DID have a double charge. I didn't hear any squib like "pops" at all...

That's what threw me off. But then they find a bullet in the barrel. He had the one trigger pull that misfired (or merely a primer but no powder) but then pulls the trigger once (twice?) without a problem after that. No indication in the first shot after the misfire though that he shot a bullet in his barrel.

Maybe it was a double charge and so much pressure was lost during the explosion it wasn't enough pressure to push the bullet down the barrel resulting in what appeared to be a squib / bullet left in the barrel?

They don't really give you a good view of the revolver afterwards.

I guess add me to the list of "so dumb that he is unable to figure out what actually happened."

Video loads for crap right now, maybe to many watching it??, anyway, watch the muzzle/barrel when the guy shoots...pop, pop,. No muzzle rise at all that I can see. That looks and sounds like primers going off.

I'll start with the facts. These guys are about the biggest idiots I've ever seen. Why these imbeciles ever thought they should make a "how to" video on reloading is beyond anyone with more than an ounce of grey matter between the ears. The only occupation I can think of that suits these two is "Crash Test Dummy".

Now I'll throw my guess on the kablewy. Due to the fact there was absolutely zero muzzle rise on round 1, 2, 4 or 5 and you can see smoke and gas exiting the cylinder gap and not the barrel, I would say they were all under charged cases that were stacking up in the bore. Who can guess on #4 with his awesome priming technique, probably crushed the primer to the point it didn't function. Shot #6.....kaboom. Now I've never even heard of a bullet bounce back into a case which shows this guy has some real talent. I can't find any load data with Alliant 2400 in .32 S&W Long, but it's way slower burning than any of the recommended powders, so I have no idea where 5.2 grains sits. Obviously not enough to make the bullets reach the end of the barrel. With these two Gomer's, I'm sure they were within 30% of their target charge so I doubt it really matters what the load data says says, if there is any at all.

For his next trick he's going to load 30-06.....just fill the cases up with that 2400 since he no longer owns a pistol to use it in. Then just stuff in the bullet.
