Dear Victoria: I have an EAA 45 in the Wonderfinish, and they are indeed a 10+1 45. In addition, they are DA/SA, so you can carry with the hammer down and the safety off, and still rock and roll when you pull the trigger. The ergonomics of the pistol are great. and if you want to spend the money $125 will get the gun Magnaported, which helps with hot loads.
The EAA is very strong and still ptretty cheap, and the Gunstop will probably sell you one for $409 NIB. (The 45's and 10mm's used to be $349, which was an obscene steal, particularly for the 10mm).
In addition to being the resident maniac as far as gun caliber is concerned, I am also the resident maniac as far as handloading is concerned, and I worked my EAA 45 all the way up to 45 Super velocities with extra heavy springs and buffers, and I can get a 185 grain XTP bullet to come out of the 4.4" EAA barrel at 1260 FPS

for 650 ft-lbs per shot. Ballistically, this makes the gun a real, live 10 + 1 41 Magnum semi-automatic, which makes it a truly formidable weapon. As far as bang for the buck with 11 shot capacity, nothing is lower priced than the EAA.
Sorry you can't make it to the Gopher.
