Gun Ranges

Is there anywhere in the Twin Cities area that has metal swinging targets? Those look like a lot of fun to shoot.

They are extremely fun to shoot, unfortunately I know of no ranges in the city the allow people to shoot steel. I know for a fact no ranges around the city have their own steel targets for customers to shoot at, you're better off getting your own and venturing to a range outside the city.

They are a ton of fun to shoot.

Come shoot a USPSA event this season, or even a 3 gun or tactical shotgun match. You'll learn to love swingers after a while :)

+1 on Shootsteel. Evan is a great guy and makes great steel targets, stands, etc.

These targets are great. I have hundreds of rounds pinged off mine and still going strong

Alhmans in morristown have steel torsos. They don't swing, but you immediately learn how much fun they are.

I don't own any of Evan's targets (yet) but I've shot them. They are legit.

I can shoot my own and other people's steel targets out at Oakdale anytime the club isn't open to the public - which is 7 days a week through June 1.

If you want to shoot steel make sure you come out to the "Bang Ping" steel shoot competitions out in Hutchinson. Starting soon and plenty of information on this site for the where's and when's.

And this is the exact reason why I joined Oakdale. :)

Its fun to go out there this time of year, and have an entire range to yourself for an hour!

How true!

Last March my brother and I spent an afternoon being the only shooters on the premises. Previous to that he had only been there during fall sight in.
He's now a member...

I am afraid to drive in there with my RWD car for fear of not getting out, but I agree...I went in December and shot in a subzero day just to make sure my pistol & AR lubrication approach wasn't going to fail me in cold weather. I imagine it is a lot more fun if it is above 20 degrees :)
