I'm thinking if one fairly small department can do it that quickly, others can too, unless of course they are just politically un-motivated. Is there anything about the background check process that would make it more difficult or time-consuming for one department over another?

The Sheriff in my county does the next day thing too. I think the ones that drag their feet just don't see it as any kind of priority. They probably save up the apps and give them to one of the night shift Dispatchers to run the checks when they get bored.

To Mr. Tutmos: Take your dime store psychobabble and park it with your pedantic complaining and juvenile one-upmanship.

Tutmos simply pointed out how people use different wording. It was a good point, And Widge told the guy that he wears panties and has them in a bunch. So he suggested decaf. It was in the context of the OP. Kind of like how concealed carry starts an argument. Just words folks. Tutmos do you know what Widge does for a living?
I was going to ask Widge how many Red Bulls he had today but everyone thinks I'm a prick anyway.
The "I told you so thread" was 11 pages because we all drift, argue, and BS over opinions not because some one is a school girl.![]()

Really, it depends mostly on how lazy your sheriff is, our sheriff is so lazy he couldn't find a rapist if he caught him in the act.
